District Photo, Beltsville, Md., became the sole owner of Photo This, a personalized photo gift services provider. The move will solidify District Photo’s dominant position as a provider of digital imaging output services. Photo This was created in 2001 by founder and President Larry Rife. Consumer and wholesale photofinisher District Photo became an equity partner in 2004.

  Photo This currently has the largest selection of photo gifts of any photo gift provider as well as an aggressive plan to launch a steady stream of new products into the marketplace, says the company.

  “We are very excited to welcome Photo This into the District Photo family,” says Neil Cohen, District Photo CEO. “This acquisition complements our existing core competencies of silver-halide and ink-based digital printing. With the addition of Photo This we can now create products with personalized images on almost anything the mind can imagine.
