August 28th, 2008 by Rick · No Comments · Info, PMA Newsline

The Independent Photo Imagers (IPI), Henderson, Nev., held its 26th Members Meeting and Trade Show Aug. 10-13 at the Golden Nugget in Las Vegas, Nev. The event brought out more than 450 IPI Member and IPI Supplying Partner participants and more than 90 IPI Supplying Partners and IPI Member to Member Business Program booths.

General sessions were conducted by senior management of Fujifilm U.S.A. and HP, IPI board of directors member John Albright, industry leaders Harry Loyle and Mitch Goldstone, and PMA executives Mary Anne LaMarre and Chad Munce. Those in attendance learned of opportunities to expand their service specialty business models for growth and profitability in image capture and image archiving.

Introduced at this year’s meeting were “Zero Down” and “Gee Whiz” Lightning Rounds, which were 4-minute IPI Supplying Partner presentations designed to show members new services they can add to their business for no cost or ones that should elicit a comment like, “Gee whiz, I should be doing that!” Special presentations were made to past IPI chairman of the board Brian Wood and retired board of directors member Allen Showalter, currently serving as president of PMA.

IPI is the nation’s largest buying group for service specialty retailers. With over 650 members and in excess of 850 storefront locations in the United States, Mexico, Canada and Australia, IPI members are the leaders in the network of image capture and image archiving businesses worldwide.
