·    Adobe Systems Inc., San Jose, Calif., is aligning its mobile and platform operations as it moves toward an integrated technology platform and runtime environment for personal computers (PCs), mobile handsets, and consumer devices. In turn, the Mobile and Devices Business Unit (MDBU) is joining Adobe’s Experience and Technology group, led by Chief Technology Officer Kevin Lynch. Gary Kovacs, vice president of Product Management and Marketing for Adobe’s MDBU, has been promoted to vice president and general manager of the business unit, reporting to Lynch, effective May 1. Kovacs takes over for Senior Vice President Al Ramadan, who has decided to leave Adobe, effective April 30, after nearly 10 years with Adobe and Macromedia. Separately, the company also appointed Rob Tarkoff, senior vice president of Corporate Development, to senior vice president of Adobe’s Business Productivity Business Unit (BPBU), effective May 1. Tarkoff replaces Senior Vice President David Mendels, who is leaving the company after a combined total of 16 years with Adobe and Macromedia. Paul Weiskopf, Adobe vice president of Strategy, Mergers & Acquisitions and Investments, succeeds Tarkoff as senior vice president of Corporate Development. Weiskopf has been with Adobe since 2005 working closely with the management team on long-term investment strategies and playing a key role in the acquisitions of Macromedia, Scene 7, and Virtual Ubiquity.

·    A-Z Media Group Inc., Carlsbad, Calif., parent company of Scrapbooking.com Magazine, promoted Jami Petersen to e ditor in chief. Peterson previously was in charge of all newsletter services. Petersen started her career as managing editor for several print magazines. Since then she has gained exposure through newsletters published through Scrapbooking.com Magazine and also as a host on the Internet show Scrapbook Lounge. Scrapbooking.com Magazine is a large online scrapbooking publication. Its weekly newsletter has more than 3 million readers and subscribers per year in more than 100 countries.

·    Eastman Kodak Co., Rochester, N.Y., named Jennifer Cisney as the company’s first chief blogger. Cisney will provide daily oversight and creative guidance for Kodak’s two blogs – “A Thousand Words” and “A Thousand Nerds“ – and will boost the company’s social media presence. In addition, Cisney will serve as the company’s eyes and ears online, listening to customer feedback and sharing ideas and tips related to Kodak’s products and services, says the company. She will also generate content for “Kodak Close Up” podcasts, available on www.kodak.com, Apple iTunes and YouTube; provide on-site coverage at trade shows and events; and continue to represent Kodak at social media conferences.

·    Eastman Kodak Co., Rochester, N.Y., promoted Kimberly A. Snyder president and general

manager of the company’s Entertainment Imaging business, effective immediately. As president of Entertainment Imaging (EI), Snyder will be responsible for all aspects of Kodak’s business with the motion picture and television industry. This includes both the traditional film technologies used to capture and print moving images, as well as the evolving digital technologies that provide new imaging capabilities and the promise of a new cinematic experience. Snyder will report to Mary Jane Hellyar, who is president of Kodak’s Film, Photofinishing and Entertainment Group, and an executive vice president of the company. Prior to Snyder’s appointment, Hellyar had served as the acting president of EI for the past 15 months.

·    Luc Marin, DxO Labs  vice president, Sales and Marketing for the Photography Business unit, will be leaving DxO Labs in May to pursue new opportunities as he moves with his family from France to Sydney, Australia. Cyrille de la Chesnais, who has been working with Marin at DxO Labs for several years, will now become Sales and Marketing Director for the Consumer business unit at DxO Labs.
