| Lets take a minute and look at a fantastic organizational and sharing features you can use with your online photo account. |
Organize! If your year was like mine, you have hundreds (or more likely, thousands) of digital photos. Take advantage of your online photo account by saving and organizing the images online! To do so,
log in and click “Add Photos” to transfer them to your account. Once they are safely stored in your account, you can separate them into different albums using various strategies. For example, you can create an album for each month of the year, or for each big event, like a vacation or a birthday party. |
| To create a new album, click on “My Albums,” and press the “Create New Album” button. Then, name your album and add an optional caption for it, such as a description of the images in the album. |
Once the new album is created, find and select the photos you’d like to store in the new album. In the “Advanced Options,” press “Copy/Move,” select the new album, and press “Move.” This will move the photos from one album into the new album you just created. Repeat this process for all of your photos until they are saved and organized appropriately. Trust me a few months or years down the road, you will be very glad you did this!
| Share! Now that your photos are all organized into descriptive, easy-to-find online albums, it is time to share them with your family and friends! Click the green “Share & Organize” tab to get started, and press the “Share Now” button. To invite people to view your photos via email, press “Invite.”Note: You can also post your photos to a personal or social networking Web site, message board, blog, or auction site using the “Post Photos” button. |
Select the album that holds the images you’d like to share, and specify whether to share the entire album, or only specific images in the album. Once the images are selected, press “Continue.”
Then, simply enter the email addresses of the people you’d like to share your images with. Be sure to enter email addresses only (no names) and separate each email address with a semicolon (;). Type in a subject and optional message for the email, and dictate whether you want the recipients to be able to share and/or save the photos you share with them. When you are ready to share the photos, press “Share.” Your friends and family can then view your photos and order prints themselves, saving you the time and money it used to take to mail them your duplicate prints!
